He followed the Naval job with four years at the national accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co., and practice in local accounting firms. In 1978 he helped found Vine, Dahlen, Werner & Co., which grew into a 20-person accounting practice. In 1999 he split off to form Werner & Co. PLLC with several of his respected colleagues.
Roger's primary focus in practice has always been tax and financial accounting and consulting for small businesses of all types. He has placed an emphasis on the tax practice and has taught numerous classes and seminars in tax accounting. Among Roger's clients are contractors, professional firms, wholesalers, manufacturers, non-profit organizations and many others. He was one of the first CPAs in Washington to initiate a financial planning and investment advisory practice, and holds the distinction of being the first professional in the state to be both a personal financial specialist and a registered investment advisor.
When not at work, Roger lives in Seattle with his wife, Lynne, but they can usually be found aboard Schatzi, their Bavaria sailboat. He has been on several Boards of Directors, served as President of the local CPA Chapter and has held officer positions at Seattle Yacht Club. He marks his position as a founding director of Prime Pacific Bank as one of his most interesting challenges.
Roger is looking forward to a bright future with Werner & Co. He is excited about the very positive prospects and the outstanding personnel who have chosen to join him in forming a leading accounting firm in this community.
